We have been
kicking around some Ideas for the new AOY prize fund, here are some of them for
your comments, I'm using this group as a kind of steering committee to get this
all finalized, we may need another meeting to present to the rest of the members
for a vote.
AOY Prize
Fund Qualifications
Since part of
the prize fund was earned through the 2006 season, We felt that we should make
sure that the members that have been long term supporters of the club benefit
the most from this program. The idea on this was to stipulate that to be
eligible for the full amount of the AOY fund, you must have been a PIB member
for 2006. New members will still be eligible for 1/2 the final prize fund.
We should also
stress that participation in the club tournaments and various fund raisers also
effects the final amount in this fund.
I think this is
a great way to increase the participation in the club, and make the club
tournaments more competitive, 2007 should be fun!!
Another item we
need to work out is how the paper tournaments will be handled, since they are
somewhat new to us we need to have the details spelled out so all know what is
going on. There will need to be a partner draw held prior to the tournament to
determine who will be bringing boats and who will be a rider, no one can fish
single, but we could use an observer if needed. The second paper tournament we
should invert this list to make it as fair as possible. With the kind of money
we are paying for AOY everyone will be really picking at this so we need to
leave NO gray area, the rules should be cut and dried.
As for the fish
measurements we will buy some of the soft measuring tapes so everyone is using
the same device to measure length and girth and we will look for a good
conversion table to make this really fun.
