After having to cancel the first open
tournament and cancel the first club event PIB members finally get to
fish and they didn't disappoint in any way. With the weather being
a cool 38 degrees at launch the day turned out to be good. With the sun
coming out and warming the cold 45 degree water PIB members scattered at
launch.
Talking to the
tournament winner and asking him about his catch he told me that last
year he took a chance going after the smallies and it didn't pay off but
this year was different. Ron found the promises land and tipped the
scales at 13 lbs for 3 smallies.
2nd and 3rd place went
to Tom Morse with a lunker of 4.68 lbs large mouth and a limit of 11.38
lbs using a Lucky Craft lipless crank bait (color not said) and Ben
DeSantis catching his limit of bass on a Stik-Em jig (color was erie
craw) and tipping the scales at 11.22. |
